SUMMARY

Assist the Shipping and Receiving Operation to insure the following summarized tasks are completed: unloading, inspecting and verifying items as they are received, tagging items with appropriate status/disposition, receive items into SAP, identify pallets/inventory, move inventory to appropriate warehouse storage locations. Pull/pick inventory items and prepare documentation to ship.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Process receipt of inventory items in SAP, and back-flush as required
  • Help in the maintenance and control of inventory stored in the plant and warehouse via performing cycle counts
  • Assist in the research/resolution of inventory discrepancies to help maintain accurate inventory levels.
  • Communicate directly to the material manager on all receiving/shipping and inventory errors.
  • Assists with follow-up and corrective action required for receiving and shipping errors.
  • Follow safety procedures.
  • Suggest changes in working conditions and use of equipment to increase efficiency of shop, department, or work crew.
  • Unload and inspect product for damage, verify receipt of items, verify product received to PO, pull samples as required, identify products received with status/disposition tags, identify/tag inventory items and move to appropriate plant/warehouse storage locations.
  • Receive and locate items; MRO ordering; scan PM documents into system; and enter store issues in order to maintain inventory.
  • Pull/pick inventory items and prepare for shipment, verify items pulled and assure that they are released for shipment, prepare appropriate/required shipment documentation.
  • Work overtime as needed.
  • Assist in the Cummins Pack and Wash House as required.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Three to six months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of training and experience.
  • Must be a certified forklift driver or willing to obtain certification.
  • Must have strong Microsoft Word and Microsoft Excel skills to create simple to complex documents.
  • Must be very detail oriented, have good organizational skills and have the ability to work under stringent time restraints.

OVERTIME

  • Employees must be able to work additional hours at the end of the shift, additional days during the payroll week which can and will be in excess of forty (40) hours per payroll week.
